During this special opportunity to engage in retreat on Bowen Island, we will learn a sequence of much-loved and time-honoured meditations called taking and giving, part of the ‘training the mind’ teachings explained in the book Eight Steps to Happiness. The tranquil environment of Rivendell Retreat Centre is the perfect location for engaging in these meditations. Get away from the busyness of your daily life, and take time to recharge, rejuvenate and be inspired. This weekend retreat can be extended to a three day retreat if you can join us a day early on Thursday!
The practice of taking and giving is a powerful method for deepening our love, compassion and wisdom. It enables us to transform the adversity we encounter in the world into powerful causes of compassion and wisdom; develop the good heart of a Bodhisattva; gain practical experience of emptiness, the true nature of reality; and even heal physical illness.
The weekend will include teachings, guided meditations with Gen Delek and Gen Sanden, and time for Q&A. Enjoy the time between sessions to relax, refresh, and spend time in the company of like-minded spiritual friends.
This retreat is suitable for everyone, regardless of experience. Contact registrar@kmcfv.ca for more information.
