The Healing Power of Meditation

Meditation heals both mind and body. If we understand the benefits of meditation, we will want to meditate every day. We engage in physical exercise and try to eat well to keep our body healthy. In the same way, we will discover that practising meditation benefits both our mind and body.

In this series of meditation classes, find out how to make meditation an essential part of your health routine and learn specific meditations that will bring great benefit to your daily life.

These meditation classes are for everyone. They include two guided meditations, a practical talk on a different topic each week, and time for Q&A at the end.

Each class is self-contained, so you are welcome to join at any time. No previous experience is required.

The Venue

The classes are held in the spacious and comfortable Welsh Hall on the lower floor of West Van library

The Teacher

Gen Kelsang Sanden is a Canadian Buddhist monk, and a senior Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Vancouver. He has been a long time student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the founder of the New Kadampa Tradition. He is well loved for his compassion, sense of humour and the clarity of his teachings.
